Since it was a rainy weekend, and we are getting our stuff together to head to Ohio for turkey time, I though I'd post two pictures from a rainy day in Ohio. These were taken in Hocking Hills State Park, back in the summer of 2006. It was just barely raining, and very misty.
We'll be going to the opposite side of Ohio this coming week, but we'll make it back to Hocking Hills sooner or later. Before I started dating an Ohio boy, I never really pictured scenes like this when I thought of "Ohio." I thought it was all flat as a board.
In fact, I've learned all kinds of interesting stuff about Ohio in the past few years. If you're interested in Native American mound building, use the label "OH" on the right to get to a long-ago post with a picture of the Serpent Mound. It's at the very bottom, after some posts on flowers, barns, and covered bridges.

love the atmosphere in the pics here, Ash.....I saw your other posts on OH, too. I have been to Columbus once and will love to go back again and explore more ..have a good time :)
Ash, really cool shots here. I think ethereal is the word I am thinking of. Yes, and surreal... I can almost feel the chill on the back of my neck. Would love to be bundled up and walking about in that scene.
Thanks,
Wayne
Looksd surreal..That is a cool pic!
wonderful shots. very atmospheric
Wow Ash.....these shots really evoke EMOTION! I would love to have gone for a walk on that trail/road in the first one. This looks like a wonderful place to explore. I am trying to think of the word for the emotion I feel.... The feeling of ANTICIPATION.....that's it! Anxious and excited about what lies further along the path.
the b&w really enhance the images. Who know Ohio could be so enchanting....I sure didn't! very nice, you were slapped by the talent stick at some point in your life!!
Fantastic Ash.. I love them both.
I had not heard of these mounds until Neva who I link to posted about some on Saturday. Some great finds, very strang the size of some of the skeletons.. I' busy at the moment be I'll be back to follow up on the link.
Great photography. I have never been to Ohio. You have piqued my interest. Hope I make it there someday.
That's some wild looking scenery. Good Work!
You have been working "overtime" in Photoshop! Excellent work!
I thought those were wintery photos, but realized I was wrong! Those are STUNNING! I went to college in Illinois, and made the drive from Massachusetts to Illinois through PA, OH and IN several times each year. I always thought Ohio was flat, too!
These are cool!
I like the mood these pictures set.
Wow such dramatic photos there.
Am now back on line, the saga continues-----
Kind of creepy. I love it.
I'm a big fan of B&W, and these are simply beautiful!
