Forget the Turkey ...

We got a deer!

Justin is officially a Pennsylvanian now that he's had a run-in with a deer. This happened Wednesday night, on our way to his parents in Ohio. We were only a couple of miles from the McConnellsburg exit, which is close to where my parents live. Fortunately, his car is big and sturdy - we hit the deer on the Turnpike in holiday traffic, and it easily could have been far worse. He's out some headlights, and the quarter panel is pushed back just enough that the passenger door cannot open. So I get funny looks for crawling out the driver's side :)

I've had enough adventure. I'm planning on having a nice relaxing rest of the week!

Oh no!!! (Or should I have said, "Oh deer!" - ok, that was bad!) Glad the car is still driveable! My dorm mother during my college days hit a deer once late one evening while she was driving back to the college... ironicly her license plate was a vanity one which read "B-CALM"! She wasn't very calm when she returned, though!

Oh wow. I thought, perhaps, you guys ran into some snow or something. I never suspected a deer. And yes, those kinds of accidents are often fatal to the people as well as the deer. I assume the deer was killed.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Yep he is a Pennsylvanian now :) When he get about a two dozen more on the bumper he will be right up with me :) :)

Believe it or not I haven't hit one in over two years!

With deer season starting in the morning both of you need to be cautious!

Oh Dear! A Deer! My wife hit a dear in my brand new car a few years back. It is amazing what damage they can do.

Oops! This is how I used to get deer. Knock on wood. Two deer actually hit my car at once one time many years ago. One jumped over the hood and the other one hit the side. Hope you get your car fixed and you can relax.
