Marble & Memory

Several shots from Arlington National Cemetery:

The view uphill to Arlington House, the family home of Civil War General Robert E. Lee. The above photo was taken from the top portion of the memorial to women in the service, a part of which is pictured below.

I have to admit this is something I need to read up on... these are beautiful pictures and have made me want to read up on this place and what it stands for. I have heard it mentioned but not give it much thought... I now intend on putting that right... thanks for the nudge.

There is an interesting story about taking General Robert E. Lee's home for the National Cemetery. Do you also know if he is buried there?

i have always wanted to visit the cemetery and i have wanted to do it in winters... with snow. looks like you manged to read my thoughts :)
