Not a Morning Person

Last weekend, I took a page out of Salty's book and went on a morning walk. And voila! A beautiful dewy daisy crossed my path. Morning was working its magic, but mostly on the grass. This was the only dew-encrusted posey I found.

I'm not normally a morning person, but I certainly don't regret dragging myself out of bed early on this particular day. This walk was a reminder that breaking routine has its benefits, in photography and in other aspects of life.

This is an excellent capture of dew on a daisy! The dew has a look of a bubbled effect.
I am reminded of the song;
“I’ll give you a daisy, a day Dear”.

True statements at the end there, Amy.

I'm with you, I'm not a morning person either. I'd rather stay up really late then sleep in ;)

Will we all need to get up early for our visit in October?

What song is my Mom talking about? ;)

I'm not sure, Chad, she'll have to sing it for us :)

Do you have a particular location in mind for the October shoot?

Hi Amy - so nice of you to visit me in PNG so I am returning your visit.

You certaily live in a stunning place - your photos are magical!!!

So interested in the earthquake site too - we get about 200 earthquakes a day (too small to feel) that the volcano sets off.
We get regualar ones around 5 to 6 and then we sometimes get big ones - a few years ago we had an 8.1.

Oh wow this is great. The dew really added texture to daisy.

I'm with you.. I'm not a morning person. I hate alarm clocks with a passion.

Dew is wonderful. So is a morning rain followed by steams of sunlight.

Nice post. Interesting read. Your profile.

I think you should start getting up early if it keeps leading to that!

I don't know when I started getting up early, but I found that morning is the best time of day for nature photography. There is that special time just before and shortly after sunrise that wildlife is most visible. The light is superb on a good morning and I always tried to be out there witnessing the dawning when I had a day off to photograph. Now that I am retired I miss very few but the weather has been so dismal lately that I have been a little lax lately.

Wow, that's a beautiful photo! There are things that are best photographed in the morning, and others at dusk. The flower seemed happy that you took its photo. :)

Love the dew on the flower. It makes it look so much nicer. I love taking photos right after a rain too, because the greens are much greener and everything doesn't look droopy.
