Such lovely flower photographs, and you are so right about Mom,I think she never seen a flower she didn't like. She certainly loved flowers and her gardening.
I think it is because of her that I find I must grow a veggie garden each year or I feel as if something is seriously missing!
I think the name is given because the roots have a reddish color. Bloodroot is one of the earlier bloomers in the forest.
